Interview with Emanuel & Tania – Part I
March 10th, 2010
At the Snowball Classic earlier this year, Joel and I had the opportunity to sit down and chat with the winners of the IDSF Standard event, Emanuel Valeri & Tania Kehlet. Although Emanuel is Italian, the couple represents Denmark and are currently ranked 2nd in the IDSF Standard World Ranking List. Having traveled to Denmark and having trained with their Danish coach, Hans Laxholm, ourselves, Joel and I had a lot to talk to them about.
The Olympic Athlete’s State of Mind
March 3rd, 2010
One of my favourite things about the Olympic coverage was definitely the interviews that were conducted with the athletes, their coaches and families… The theme that keeps coming back over and over again through these interviews is how important an athlete’s state of mind is. Sure, hard work, of course, is a key ingredient to success. But it definitely isn’t all there is.

Living the Italian Dream: Part I – Studio Danze Baricchi
June 5th, 2009
Oh the heat! Having a West-facing apartment, Joel and I have been just baking at our place for the past two days! It reminds me of those hot Italian summers when we lived in Italy. I remember it being so unbearably hot in the studio (cuz it didn’t have air conditioning) that we’d go and practice from 11pm to 2am in the morning! Those were crazy days, but when you’re insanely neurotic about dancing (as we are), you do anything to improve!
Spring has Sprung!
April 26th, 2009
Oh Spring time! My favourite time of year! It’s when I can finally get rid of the hardtop and ride my old ’91 Miata around town with the top down! Yay! It’s when I get to lounge out on the patio and enjoy the fresh air, the beautiful foliage that surrounds me and the awakening sounds of spring!
