What is PEAK 2.0?
PEAK 2.0 is the latest version of the very popular and highly effective weekly training sessions run by JC Dance Co. PEAK stands for 'Performance Enhancing Approach to Kompetition', and goes beyond the typical 'Studio Competitor Practice' or 'Competition Run-Through' practice.
JC Dance Co.'s principle coaches, Joel & Clara, have designed the class to supplement your learning, by specifically challenging your skills towards competitive dancing. Over the years, these sessions have been redesigned and modified to train competitors to reach their optimal PEAK performance at just the right time, through a holistic approach to ballroom dance training.
Come out and have a more effective and focused practice! PEAK will address such issues as Floorcraft, Presentation, Mental Preparation, Warm-Up, Drills, Stamina Training and more! Many of the teaching methods that Joel & Clara use, have been developed from their experiences training in England, Italy and Denmark. This is your chance to train like top level dancers from around the world, here in Vancouver!
2.0 Training Session Format
Each PEAK 2.0 training session will include regular Individual Exercises to build balance, flexibility and coordination; Couple Exercises that will address couple coordination, connection, lead and follow, space and freedom and harmony; Small Ballroom exercises that will address floorcraft, connection and modulation of energy, space and movement; Musicality Exercises to help connect the music to your body actions; Routine Practice with emphasis on mental focusing, floorcraft and real-time distraction and physical stamina; and finish with a Physical Exercise segment that will develop your flexibility, core strength, plyometric power and cardio-vascular endurance.
First timers are always welcome! Although you can come individually, it is best to come with a partner. The PEAK Training session is designed as a continuous and progressive training class. Therefore, it would be most beneficial for you to come on a regular basis, so that you can build on your skills and strength from week to week.
PEAK is suitable for all levels. No matter what level you are competing at, all dancers must learn to develop the same skills. Technique is technique, whether you are in Bronze, Silver, Gold or Championship level. All you need to join the class is dedication and determination. We currently have Pre-Bronze all the way to Championship level couples training within the class.

These prices are relatively inexpensive for any class in any field, whether it be dance, yoga, pilates, etc… So please take advantage of this opportunity and come out every Wednesday for 90 minutes of intense and focused ballroom training!
PEAK is open to all dancers, not only to JC Dance Co students. Please come early to warm up before we begin, and remember to bring your own water bottle, towel, dance and exercise clothing and a yoga mat.
