You've learned a bunch of steps and now you are eager to know how to dance them better. Maybe you aren't able to afford regular weekly Private Lessons. Or maybe you'd like to learn in a group environment where you can meet with friends and learn among your peers.

The JC Dance Co. Rising Star Squad is the first of it's kind. Here, you will learn ballroom technique that is usually only taught in Private Lessons. You will receive detailed personalized instruction from both Joel and Clara at the cost of a regular group class. Not only will you receive first-class instruction, but you will also receive Joel and Clara's coveted class summaries emailed to you after each and every class!

The Rising Star Squad is an ongoing Standard Technique class for people who are interested in learning more technique rather than more and more steps.  In this class, we do not just teach routines. We teach short selected patterns, only to be used as a vehicle to discuss the technique that will help you to become better leaders or followers and will push you to new heights in your dancing.

The Squad is designed for all levels of dancers. The selected patterns will be derived from the syllabus and consist mainly of steps up to and including the Silver level. However, as we all know, no matter what level you're in, you can always benefit from improving your basic foundation.  

Whether or not you have a partner, the Squad is perfect for you. In it's new format, RSS encourages everyone to switch partners, which is most beneficial for everyone. Because we have people of all levels and dance abilities, you learn a great deal about lead and follow by dancing with others.

The Rising Star Squad is now an ongoing technique class and will cover themes of essential technique that can be used in all the ballroom dances. It is of course more beneficial if you sign up for the entire session to get the big picture of how all the information ties in together. However, each session can certainly stand on it's own, so you are welcome to drop-in at anytime.

Session I: Jan 6 to Mar 10, Wednesdays 7-8pm.
Session II: Mar 17 to May 19, Wednesdays 7-8pm.
Session III: Jun 2 to Aug 4, Wednesdays 7-8pm.
Please note that there are no classes in August.
